Skip the DPS wait: find a third-party road test in Texas

Texas lets DPS-certified driver education schools give the official Class C driving test. The program “reduces the time you must wait to take your driving test,” according to DPS (source). DPS publishes the list of these schools as one long page grouped by county, with no prices (source). We sorted the list by metro and added each school's posted price where the school publishes one.

How it works in 4 steps: (1) check you qualify (age-based rules below); (2) watch the free Impact Texas Drivers video within 90 days of the test; (3) book the test directly with a school on this list; (4) after you pass, finish your license at DPS. Full walk-through: How to get a Texas road test without waiting months at DPS (2026).
