Independent, not a government site

Texas Road Test Finder is an independent directory. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), or any driving school. We can't book DPS appointments, issue licenses, or change test results. For official information, go to DPS and TDLR.

How we make money (disclosure)

Featured listings are paid. Driving schools can pay to appear in a “Featured (paid placement)” box at the top of a metro page or the all-Texas page (see Feature your driving school). No school is featured right now, and no school has paid to appear or to be ranked. A featured spot is an ad. Paying does not change the neutral data: which schools appear on the official DPS list, the order of that list, the prices we report (only what each school posts on its own site), or anything else in our tables. Featured schools are also listed in the full list in the normal way, and we don’t rate, rank or endorse any school. Schools that don’t pay are listed exactly the same as before.

The site has no ads besides featured spots and no affiliate links right now. In the future we may earn affiliate commissions (for example, from online driver education courses). If we do, those links will be marked, and they won’t change the lists or prices either.

How we build the lists

• Road-test schools: the official DPS Third Party Skills Testing school list, retrieved October 21, 2026. Names, addresses and phones are as DPS lists them. We group by county and by metro (DFW, Houston, Austin and San Antonio, using the counties named on each page). Where a DPS county heading doesn't match the address's ZIP code, we note it.
• License numbers and all driver ed schools: TDLR's public license data files (Driver Education Providers and Branch files), current licenses only. We match DPS listings to TDLR records by phone number, by name, or by a license number printed in the DPS listing. Matches made on name alone are labeled.
• Prices: only prices a school publishes on its own website, with a link to the page and the date we checked. We don't estimate or average prices for a school, and we never publish prices from phone calls or third-party sites. “Price not posted” means we didn't find one.
• No ratings. We don't publish star ratings or rankings of school quality.

Corrections

Schools: if your listing or price is wrong, send us the page on your website that shows the correct information and we'll update it. Corrections can only be made to match DPS, TDLR, or your own published information.
